"Hi Frank: Here's an episode you might want to file for future use-- Last Wednesday night in the 4th race at Woodbine, the winner Put Upon ($10.20, 5.90, 4.10) romped home in a 6 and 1/2 furlong turf test to the delight of owner Richard Englander and trainer Scott Fairlie and whoever else cashed in. I was not there, and have no connection with the stable, but I learned that Mr. Englander had lost the horse a while back in a $25,000 claimer and was so distraught he claimed him back for a reported $60,000 some time in the recent past prior to June 20. However, my information is second hand, but no doubt you can verify the circumstances through your industry connections. This series of events struck me as a classic example of your reclaim/reacquired betting situation. As for myself, I'm proceeding through the book at a slow pace, re-checking many of the situations and finding it of great interest. Today, I ran a test on five races at Fort Erie: result, two winners, at 8-5 and 7-1, plus a longshot that showed. Encouraging to say the least. Regards, Richard."
